The finalist presentations are listed below in random order.
The Nolan Ryan Rookie Card Ethical Case Study
Prof. Kim Houser (Washington State University)

Applying Legal Concepts to Business in a Legal & Ethical Environment of Business Course: The Build-A-Business Project
Prof. Ryan C. Grelecki (Georgia State University)
Because few students enter our classrooms grasping the pervasive nature of the law, it is imperative to connect them to the material personally and make the applicability of law to their business education and future careers more obvious and valuable.  The Build-A-Business Project accomplishes this through a series of versatile papers, discussing a student-selected business idea within the context of specific legal concepts.

Hot Coffee
Prof. Kim Petrone (University of Arkansas)
The Hot Coffee Lesson (yes, Liebeck v. McDonald's lives on) uses a New York Times Retro Report video to stimulate class discussion and to serve as a springboard for mini-lectures on a range of topics. The lesson also promotes a positive rapport  between instructors and students, establishing a "shared story" which is referenced several times later in the semester.

Follies of the Famous Bolster Business Law Lessons
Prof. Karen Morris (Monroe Community College, SUNY) and Prof. Marianne Jennings (Arizona State University)

One of the most important aspects of the Hewitt Master Teacher competition is the way it raises the profile of the people who teach business law across our guild. This is a small sample of the stories about recent winners, which highlight their achievement, but also the great work done by business law professors around the country.
